Jeremiah Martyr

Eusebius gave us the story of five Egyptians martyrs who gave their lives in Palestine (Caesarean section) for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his book "The church's history, Chapter of “martyrs of Palestine!!" During the year 309 AD as the Emperor Galirios Maxemian and Maximus continued the persecution started Dqldjnos, five Egyptian men started to search for the confessors in the mines in Silesia Cilicia. They were stopped by guards of the Caesarean section of Palestine. They inquired about their identity. The five declared that they were Christians and told the guards about the goal of their journey. So they were arrested and were taken accompanied by with the St. Bmvelios to be presented to the magistrate Firmilian. The judge first tested the firmness of the faith of those Egyptian firm that had not relented and endured all kinds of torture including newly invented variety of strange machines. He asked for the name of their leader who replied that his name was the name of Prophet "Elijah" because it had been the practice of the Christian believers to name themselves other names instead of their pagan launched by the parents. He said that the names of the five are Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Samuel and Daniel (Chosen names, demonstrating that they are Israeli (new people of God) without any fraud, not only their deeds but also to their names. For the same reason, when asked about their home, although they were Egyptians, they replied that their origin was Jerusalem. This was the usual behavior of most of the martyrs, that means they had the seal of Jerusalem as Saint Paul wrote” The Supreme Jerusalem, which is the mother of all of us is free" (Gal 4: 26). The judge ordered that they should be tortured in every way but failed to move them even one step away from their Christian faith. Finally he handed over to be executed as Martyrs. . May the Blessings of his prayers Be with all of us AMEN.
