Erasmus Saint the Matyred Bishop

One of the famous martyrs of Syria and the West is St. Erasmus, unfortunately the scholars disagreed about the history of his life. As the persecution broke out, this bishop headed to Mount Lebanon to live in the cave. God sent him a crew to feed him every day. Emperor Dkldjnos ordered that he should be arrested, where he was beaten and delivered in boiling tar, but God Saved him from any harm. He was thrown into jail. It was said that an Angel carried him to Italy, near lake Losrino (Lucrino). He was arrested again and placed on an iron chair inflaming with fire, and they immersed him in boiling oil, and the Lord preserved him. They undressed him and linked him naked to the branches of a twisted tree . His body was cut apart and his intestines emerged to receive the crown of Martyrdom. Unequivocally happened between him and some of the other martyrs. Reference: Rev. Baring Could, Lives of the Saints 1872, June 2 May the Blessings of his prayers be with all of us AMEN.
