Avrosina The Saint

She lived at the end of the thirteenth century and the beginning of the fourteenth century. She lost her parents when she was young. A pious family volunteered for breeding her. She emerged in strengthened godly life. She loved the ascetic life. As she felt that as a young man offered to marry her, she shaved her hair. This had affected the young man who had been attached to her. At what he saw in this girl of her insistence to stick to celibacy and devotion to the Lord, he also followed her example and lived a life of celibacy and devotion to the Lord. The Lord was glorified in her and she was recommended to join the convent. She grew up in vigilance and in ascetic life. She had longed to wear the angelic nunís dress. God had given her the gift of working miracles. As the mother head of the nunsí convent departed, the nuns agreed to step her up as their head or their mother nun. Finally, she suffered from many diseases for a long time. She lay in the Lord, when she reached eighty years old, on the ninth of Amshir 1204 Coptic Calendar for Martyrs. H H Pope John VIII attended her funeral. Of her worthy sayings: 1-Her words about the salvation: ď Who wants to save himself would like to give the same silver for the one who curses him and insulted himĒ 2-Her words about humility: makes it sad, even gaining the virtue of humility. The kingdom of God is not acquired by gold or silver, but by humility, purity of heart and true love for each one. May the Blessings of her prayers Be with all of us Amen.
