Agathopus and Theodulus Martyrs

Deacon Agathopus joined by Theodulus presented a valid certificate of faith in the city of Thessaloniki at the beginning of the fourth century. They were summoned to the magistrate Vostynos, who in vain had made every effort to force them to worship the idols. They were thrown in prison. In a vision they saw that as if that they were in a ship in the sea facing a very violent resistant wind. Then the ship broke and the vessel submerged in water, but they managed to escape to a rock, and went up on a hill. This had been achieved in their martyrdom as they were thrown in the sea by order of the governor, linked to stones around their necks. But they swam in the water and ascended to Mount Zion in the Kingdom of Heaven. May the Blessings of their prayers Be with all of us AMEN
